Hey errrrrrrrrrrrybody. Two consecutive weeks! Anywhoo.....not much has changed this past week. I guess I'll just put in some shameless plugs for some events coming up. This weekend is the last weekend for the Living Newspaper Project put on by your fellow students. I definitely say ch-ch-ch-check it out. Also, for any Wavves or Best Coast fans they are playing the Varsity Theater in Dinky Town on Friday. I personally cannot go to prior engagements (which I am also excited about) but you should definitely go and tell me alls about it.
I have virtually been on a non-stop Wavves binge since winter break. His new album King of the Beach is fantastic. Lotsa surfy punky stuff on there. I ranked it among the top 5 albums of the year along with MGMT, Gorillaz, Surfer Blood, and LCD Soundsystem.
Speaking of "Best Of"'s, I finally got to see Black Swan. Man oh man was this movie fantastic. And not solely based on the Mila on Natalie action. The dancing sequences were beautifully choreographed and shot. Also, it offers up some genuine thrills not usually found in movies today. I will say that though I do love the St. Anthony and Main theater, a better sound system would have made those moments more intense. Natalie Portman definitely deserves her Oscar nom and I'm saying that deserves the actual award in the end.
But yes, more to come next week

I'M BACK!!!!
Hey errrrybody. I know you have all been anxiously awaiting my return. Well, maybe not. For me this is the classic example of "oh hey! I should probably do that!" and then i forget.....for months. I would like to apologize to Ali for the wait. I hope to do a better job in the future. YAY!
So an update.
Well, school has been going great! Finally getting into classes that deal with my major, and now I'm considering double majoring in both Film and Communications. Life has been pretty great, my mom is officially cancer free as of December! But I've been getting the Karma payment plan for being a schmo last semester. A little word of advice, if you're going to take later in the day classes, still wake up at a decent hour. I've been having a pretty tough time going to bed before 2 a.m. and getting up nice and early for class. But hey, you only learn by experience. I'm loving my classes so far this semester. I am currently taking Documentary production, Intro to Comm. Studies, History of Cinema, and Online Journalism. On a side note, my roommate and I are taking every single class together......so hopefully he won't have Connor overload, but I don't think there's even such a thing. So yea, there's a little update and I will try 12419841986493476238472359826357242987365x's harder to keep this thing up to date.

Getting Into My Routine
Things are finally starting to smooth out and get familiar. I am no longer constantly checking myself on what I have to do that day. Life is good AND calm again. But recently my home town of Pine Island was flooded and that was no house untouched by the devastation. After calls from my parents I could breathe easy as our house, though flooded, is fine. My neighbors, how ever, were not so lucky. Completely flooded basements, and backyard lakes are only a few problems. So if you could while you are reading, send good vibes over to South East Minnesota, it would be much appreciated.
The last week blew by quickly after last weekend. Last weekend was amazing. Friday night, a bunch of friends stopped by and we watched Christmas On Mars, the Flaming Lips movie. The next night the same group of friends and I hopped the light rail over to First Ave to see a couple of local bands. Live music is one of the best things in life if you ask me, just the environment that you are put into just completely takes you away. But it was the next night that made it all perfect. The Flaming Lips. Live. Boom. My mind was blown and I am still recovering from the awesomeness that was The Flaming Lips. Wayne Coyne (the frontmat) stepped on my face. Don't worry, it was through a plastic bubble, but I would not have minded either way. The show was extravagant, with confetti and balloons galore. Throughout the next couple days I was still pulling confetti out of pockets and shoes.
But besides all that my life is class and work. Making money just to hand it right back.

Back To Augsburg
Hello all who stumble upon this page, my name is Connor Krenik. A little about myself, I am a sophomore Film major, I work in the film office, and I enjoy many things including movies(obviously) and music. Though I am not the reason for Dinosaurs being extinct, I think it would look good on a resume. So ssshhh...don't tell anyone. I am very very happy to be back at the 'Burg, seeing as this summer was not so.....hot. Various major health issues in family has taught me to be on my toes, and to really appreciate family. The hardest of all is seeing my mom going through Chemotherapy. So there may be a time when I use this page not only to inform, but to vent.
A few tips for incoming freshmen/ hopeful applicants:
1. Do not be intimidated. College is a big step in life, but it will also be one of the best.
2. Always leave your door open. This is the best way o get to know your fellow classmates on your floor.
3. Immerse yourself in the community. Go out and explore the city, and get to know the people who inhabit it.
4. Go to concerts. The Twin Cities is a vibrant community for music lovers, the year is young and I already have 4 concert excursions planned for the next couple of months.
Last but not least
5. Go to class. You're spending a lot of money to do so, so why not?
I am still figuring out this confangled blogging thing, I'm not the most tech savvy, but we all learn as the years go on.
